LAR Housing Trust was set up in 2015 and has plans to build homes which will be available for mid market rent in villages, towns and cities across Scotland. This will allow people to live affordably in their own communities, offering security, stability and a chance to plan for the future.
As a charity, we place great value on the wider benefits which good quality, affordable homes will bring.
LAR is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), registered with the Office of Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) with Scottish Charity number SC044825.
LAR's work is overseen by a Board of Trustees led by Chairman Andrew Robertson CBE.
Not everyone is eligible for social housing, similarly not everyone can afford the cost of private rented property. Mid-Market Rent is a form of affordable housing for those in work. Our properties provide good quality affordable housing with rent charges that are set lower than those of other private rents.
Our Mid-Market Rent properties are aimed at people who are in work with a household income no greater than:
Edinburgh & The Lothians:
1-bed property - £28,560
2-bed property - £37,200
3-bed property - £48,000
2-bed property - £30,000
2-bed property - £23,760
3-bed property - £28,320
Perth & Kinross:
1-bed property - £19,200
2-bed property - £25,200
3-bed property - £31,200
1-bed property - £26,400

Priority will be given to people who:
